Delhi High Court today directed Delhi Police to submit a status report within three days on the Sunanda Pushkar death case. Sunanda Pushkar was wife of Congress Leader Shashi Tharoor. Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Leader Subramanian Swamy had filed a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) in Delhi High Court and submitted that there was an “inordinate delay” in the probe.


New Delhi, Jul 20 :  Delhi High Court today directed Delhi Police to submit a status report within three days on the Sunanda Pushkar death case. Sunanda Pushkar was wife of Congress Leader Shashi Tharoor. Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Leader Subramanian Swamy had filed a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) in Delhi High Court and submitted that there was an “inordinate delay” in the probe. Swamy submitted before the court that “Sunanda Pushkar’s case was an extreme example of the slow-motion of the criminal justice process and the extent to which it could be subverted by the rich and influential. In the meantime, South Delhi Hotel has filed a plea to de-seal suite number 345 that was sealed on January 17, 2014, after Pushkar’s body was found there. The court has ordered the police to reply the plea of South Delhi Hotel to de-seal the said suite. Delhi High Court Justices GS Sistani and Chander Shekhar today directed the Delhi Police to submit a status report within three days. The court further directed Ministry of Home Affairs, CBI and Delhi Police to specify the current status of the case and adjourned the matter for August 1. UNI
